Tasting notes and fact sheet:
A classic Dry Creek Valley / Bradford Mountain Zinfandel. Dark ruby in color, with jammy ripe
dark cherry and blackberry fruit, and white pepper and vanilla spice. It is a full-bodied,
elegant wine with soft, supple tannins and concentrated flavors that produce a rich lingering
finish. It was made the old fashioned way -- cold soaked and then fermented in small
open-topped bins. This approach contributes to the expression of the wine's unique terroir.

Our vines are planted at 1000 feet elevation on a ridge near the top of Bradford Mountain, off of West Dry Creek
Road. They are among the highest vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley AVA. The soil is red and acidic, resembling
the Terra Rossa of Tuscany. The Zinfandel vines are head-pruned. The Cabernet Sauvignon vines are cane-
pruned and trellised for vertical shoot positioning.
The grape yields are low—less than two tons per acre. The grape berries are small and the skins dark at harvest
with around 25%-30% Zinfandel, and 10%-15% Cabernet Sauvignon, showing signs of "pruning". These growing
conditions produce highly concentrated flavors, dark ruby hues, and good “structure” from ample and well-balanced
acid and tannins.

This Super Tuscan style wine aims for suppleness and
balance between the fruit, and the green olive and leather
characteristics of Bradford Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. It
is an elegant wine, with ample fruit and soft tannins, perfect
with red sauces and more acidic or savory dishes. Picked
fully ripe and fermented in small open-topped bins, this Cab
exhibits all of the benefits of that approach found in the
Zinfandel. While highly approachable now, it will continue to
develop in the bottle.
